The P2P Information Service is an application based on the peer-to-peer functionality of NFC. The idea behind this application was to allow users to “take away” pre customized information and read it offline on the handset.
Therefore the user can subscribe different information channels like the menu of the cafeterias and restaurants located at the campus, time tables and lecture announcements as also headlines of RSS feeds.
The get the information the user just has to put the handset onto the reader of the P2P information service terminal. The application authenticates itself against the terminal and then the terminal transfers the data to the handset. The handset comes with a special news browser the read this information and to subscribe or unsubscribe different information channels.
