1st Austrian NFC Developer Competition
The University Of Applied Sciences Of Upper Austria in Hagenberg invited teams to participate for the 1st Austrian NFC Developer Competition.
Scope:
The competition focused on new NFC applications and services, commercial market-oriented solutions and innovative applications. Companies, academic staff and students were invited to take part in the competition.
The competition has run in cooperation with A1, Nokia, SCM and NXP.

The Jury
The jury consisted of 8 highly decorated members:

- Gregor Ponert (Skidata)
- Peter Preuß (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund)
- Kurt Schmid (Nexperts)
- Christiane Schweighofer (mobilkom austria)
- Steffen Steinmeier (NXP)
- Tuomo Tuikka (VTT)
Because of a head-to-head race in the first ranks, the jury decided to award two third places.
And the winners are...
- 1st place (2.500 EUR): Theft-deterrent system for skis (Florian Lettner, Markus Eder, Carina Madlmayr)
- 2nd place (1.500 EUR): Secure eSigning Device (Michael Schwaiger, Norbert Groissböck, Hermann Lizelfelner)
- 3rd place (1.000 EUR): Mobile Coupons (Manfred Aigner, Oliver Gössler, Michael Hutter)
- 3rd place (1.000 EUR): Smart Doorbell (Bernhard Groiss)
